Annual Stewardship Letter

Pledge Card

There is also a Time and Talent Survey that was included with your Stewardship Letter and Pledge Card that you received in the mail a few weeks ago.

Stewardship Sunday is the Sunday, Nov 20 - the Sunday before Thanksgiving Weekend - Bring your Pledge Card and Time & Talent Survey on that day and put them in a special offering collection.

It is truly no accident that Stewardship time occurs around Thanksgiving.  We as a church have been given so much and have so very much for which to be thankful. We realize that all blessings and good things come from God and we thank him for each and every one.  To be a steward is to take care of what God has generously given, to be responsible for how each of us use not only our money but our time and talent as well.  God is the source of all resources!

This year’s Stewardship campaign does not just focus on the financial aspects of Stewardship, as important as that is, but also on how we make use of the gifts that God has given.

Each year the Session works very hard to be good stewards of the gifts and offerings that result from your pledges.  Yet as you know, from each of your household budgets, the cost of everything continues to rise; the same is true for the church budget as well.  We ask you all to keep that in mind as each of you thoughtfully and prayerfully consider your pledge for the coming year.  Let us have faith that God can and will supply our needs according to God’s riches.

Mathew 5:15 says that we should not hide our light under a bushel but to let it shine for all to see.  Everyone reading this letter has something to contribute.  There is much work that needs to be done and often not enough hands to do it.  I recall for you the words of the author, who said, “Just because you can’t do everything doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do something”.

As you prayerfully consider your financial commitment for the coming year, please also consider how you can share your own talents and abilities so that Hildale Park Presbyterian Church can continue to grow and expand its mission.  The financial and personal pledges that we make are our commitment to the task of growing the ongoing mission of our church.

The pledges and interest forms will be received at the November 20th worship service.  If you are unable to attend please mail them back to the church in the envelopes provided.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Glenn Steinhilber, Chairman, Stewardship and Missions Committee

Malachi 3:10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”
